Why would they send me all the way to Ottawa?

One word I think covers it… Confidence.

When a contractor is willing to send you across the country
to help finish up a project, you know there has to be something you have that others don’t.

Last week, I had the privilege of being flown out to Ottawa to take care of a small painting project.
But why on earth would a contractor fly me all the way from Edmonton, Alberta to Ottawa, Ontario for a project that someone local easily could have done the same type of work.

The risk of having someone else was too high, we needed someone we could trust. Someone we knew would get the job done right and done the first time.
— Contractor

Here is the story:

We were working on a project in Calgary, Alberta for a Contractor that we work regularly with.

As the job progressed, the client inquired if we knew anyone artistic enough to paint a couple murals on some walls. I inquired of a few people that I knew here in town but none of them felt comfortable doing it. As I looked deeper into what exactly the client was looking to have done, I thought, I think we could install these a different way.

So I made a plan and let them know that I could help them out with this. The job went exactly as planned and on schedule so that they could turn over the job to their client.

The very next day, they asked “How much would it cost us to have you come out to Ottawa and do the same thing?”

That is how we ended up going all the way to Ottawa to do a job for an amazing client.

Not all painters are the same.

You need three things from a painter:

  1. Someone that is competent.

Someone that is able to solve problems, able to communicate clearly, and knows how to get the job done - that is someone competent.

  2. A painter that will represent your company.

What you and your company stand for is important and everyone working on that project should be following that lead.

  3. A painter that is going to finish the job.

You need someone that isn’t going to walk off the job. Someone isn’t going to complain at every hiccup along the way. You need a painter that will get the work done and done properly so you can hand the project over to the client and get paid.

Let’s make your job easier. Work with painters that help you enjoy the process as well as the results.
